How early should
I book my wedding video package?
Wedding bookings are received as far
as 18 months in advance, so the earlier the better.
Typically,
April and September are the most requested months.
Does
Memento require a deposit from me?
A deposit of $250 is required to secure
a booking. Your deposit is a sign of commitment
of your part. This guarantees that we reserve this
date for your wedding.
Is the deposit
refundable?
The deposit is refundable up to 8 weeks
prior to the booked wedding date. Cancellation after
this time results in the deposit being retained.
When do I make the
final payment?
Final payment is required seven (7)
days prior to the wedding date.
What if I need to
cancel my wedding?
Your deposit will be refunded if
the wedding is cancelled eight (8) clear weeks
prior to the wedding. After this time, the deposit
will be retained in the event of cancellation.
If the wedding is cancelled less than seven (7)
full days from the wedding date, a fee of $500.00
will be retained and the remaining balance will
be refunded to you.
As we block the date of your wedding
out from all other clients, the deposit amount
basically compensates us for turning away other
business. Should it happen that we can book another
wedding for the day you are cancelling, we will
refund all deposits and fees in full (minus any
expenses incurred as a direct result of our dealings
with you to that point).
Are there any hidden
costs?
Memento packages are all fixed price
and you will never be charged anything that isn't
clearly marked on your quote. If you have requested
additions or changes to your package, the final
package price will be indicated on your invoice
and will contain nothing unexpected. We believe
in running a straightforward and honest service
and are not in business to deceive our valued customers.
How long after the
wedding will my video / DVD's be ready?
All editing and design is completed
in one to two weeks following the wedding, depending
on the package and your availability. DVD's and
VHS Copies can be posted (Registered Mail Only)
or collected via other arrangements.
Does the camera
operator attend the rehearsal?
Unless instructed by you not to,
we will generally attend the rehearsal as this
provides both you and the camera operator the
opportunity to discuss ideas, camera placements
and other preferences so that your wedding day
is as smooth as possible. We will charge a nominal
fee to cover travel expenses if the locaiton of
the event is beyond a 20km radius of Brisbane
City centre. We can provide you with a quote if
you wish to have the rehearsal or surrounding
events (dinner, family gatherings) filmed as well.
What type of camera
do you use?
We use professional Sony 3CCD High
Definition (HD) Digital Cameras. We have a lens
kit including Wide Angle and Telephoto with us
on site. We carry a selection of batteries sufficient
to maintain more than 15 hours of continual use.
All videos are captured on high-quality DVCAM/HDV
Digital Tape.
Is there a noticeable
difference between standard DV and HDV?
Most definitely! Normal interlaced
DV cameras shoot with 576 lines of resolution
(PAL television standard), while HD uses 1080
lines. This means the picture quality is several
times as clear as there are nealy five times the
total number of pixels containing visual data.
Not only will the difference be immediately noticeable
on a standard definition tv, but in the near future
when we all eventually switch to HD televisions,
your precious memories will receive an extra boost
in visual quality because they will be displayed
in their true HD format. This is a major advance
in entertainment technology that your family will
benefit from in years to come. Your special day
will increase in visual quality rather than decrease
as in the days of VHS tapes.
Do you use radio
mikes for the vows and speeches?
We use high quality Sony radio microphones
for vows and speeches. The groom usually wears the
microphone for the ceremony, but sometimes, the
officiating celebrant agrees to wear the microphone.
These arrangements will need to be made with the
celebrant prior to the wedding date. If you prefer
not to wear a mic, we can also discreetly hide our
Sennheiser shotgun microphone where your vows can
be captured clearly.
